TILLETT P1 DEFENDER - (Blue)

The P1 Defender is the latest karting rib protector from Tillett and had been designed to exceed FIA 8870-2018 safety specifications which is now mandatory for all CIK FIA karting events. The P1 defender retains the highest level and protection and comfort found in the popular P1 protector but with an integrated self forming chest protector and additional rear protection to improve safety further still. Developed using input from top level drivers in karting the P1 defender is the thinnest FIA 8870-2018 protector on the market so as not to affect the required kart seat size.

The Tillett P1 Defender kart rib protector is designed and manufactured in the UK and  works by effectively transferring load points, in a crash, to the whole of the rib cage. This hugely reduces the the risk of rib injuries. It uses a special 'anti-shock' internal foam which allows the protector to be thinner so as not to disrupt seat sizing and the smooth outer surface has been designed to prevent wear to race suits. The foam is Lycra lined which provides a more comfortable , abrasion free surface for the wearer.  An adjustable velcro strap includes elasticated sections to enable unrestricted breathing whilst retaining the correct tightness of fit. An included adjustable harness keeps the protector in the correct position as has been designed to allow for unrestricted body movement.
